Furniture Sourcing in China
We help private and professional buyers source furniture from China by aligning product requirements, comparing suitable manufacturers and coordinating samples, quality control, packing and logistics handover.
Define the product before comparing price
Furniture with the same general description can differ materially in dimensions, construction, visible materials, internal materials, finish, upholstery, hardware and packaging. A useful sourcing process therefore starts with the version you actually want to buy.
Reference images are helpful, but they do not replace dimensions, material choices, quantities, finish requirements and other project-specific decisions.
Information used for a furniture enquiry
Depending on the product, the enquiry can record:
- Dimensions and quantities.
- Construction and visible materials.
- Colour, stain, veneer, coating or other finish.
- Upholstery or fabric requirements where applicable.
- Hardware, fittings and removable components.
- Reference images, drawings or approved samples.
- Packaging, destination and project schedule.
Where a characteristic has not been decided, it is treated as an open point rather than assumed.
Selecting a suitable manufacturer
Factory selection depends on more than catalogue appearance. We compare the manufacturer’s product focus, customisation capability, response to the specification, sample options, quotation detail, commercial terms and ability to document the agreed version.
The shortlist is based on the agreed assignment and suitability rather than a hidden factory commission.
Samples and quality control
Where the product and order justify it, a sample or reference unit can help confirm proportions, visible materials, finish and workmanship before production. Later inspections can refer back to the approved documents and samples.
Depending on scope, checks can include model and quantity, dimensions, visible finish, components, movement or functions that can be tested safely, labels and packaging. Natural variation, hidden construction and future wear cannot always be established during a visual or sampling inspection.
Packaging and multi-supplier consolidation
Furniture can be vulnerable to surface damage, moisture, impact or poor identification during transport. Packaging requirements and markings should therefore be considered as part of the product and logistics enquiry.
When furniture is combined with kitchens, sanitary ware, lighting or other products, CONSOO & CO can coordinate readiness information and consolidation with the responsible logistics providers.
Related construction and interior sourcing
Furniture can be sourced as a standalone assignment or as part of a broader project with building materials, kitchens and cabinets or sanitary ware. See the construction and interior sourcing hub for the overall process.
Related services include supplier and factory sourcing, quality control and product inspection and consolidation and global logistics coordination.
